BASIC TRAINING

We are happy to offer our Basic crisis training course by prior appointment to intact groups at agency sites. Smaller groups and individuals will be accommodated in other scheduled classes. The Basic Training typically consists of a 2 day intensive workshop conducted by a KWC-trained Master Trainer. Certification comes with successful completion of the workshop. Trainees must attend the entire workshop to be certified. Call or email for more information.

​Eligibility -Candidates for the Basic Training must be employed by an organization sponsoring the training.

Workshop Content – The Basic Training workshops take place on two consecutive training days. The workshop consists of reviewing the course content (philosophy, normal routine, verbal techniques, personal control techniques, blocks and releases and affirmation/follow-up procedures) and includes role-playing, reading assignments, discussion, demonstration, and physical practice. Candidates should dress comfortably in clothing which allows for physical movement. Each day will have a morning session and an afternoon session with a break in each as well as a break for lunch. The course includes a demonstration component and a written test. Certification will follow acceptable performance as determined by KWC.
